When you buy a brand new computer, you would be amazed by its speed and stability, but after a few months, it will slow down, you will encounter errors more frequently and an occasional crash is to be expected as well. If you fail to perform regular maintenance tasks, your operating system will slow down dramatically until it will grind to a halt and you will not be able to launch it anymore. You can avoid this by cleaning up and fixing your Windows Registry with RegDoctor. All you have to do is let it scan the registry keys and it will fix any problems it encounters.

The utility is lightweight, which means that you can download the setup package fast and go through the setup process without any difficulties. It works with all Windows platforms, from the old and outdated Win 95, to the newer Vista or Win 7.

RegDoctor will verify the integrity of your registry keys and scan various elements, such as ActiveXCOM subsections, file extensions, application paths, shortcuts and many more. These items are targeted by default, but you can choose which to scan or which to avoid by selecting or deselecting them in the Settings menu.

You can start a quick or a deep scan by clicking one of the buttons on the left side of the interface. The process will begin immediately and the results will be categorized in a tree structure. A threat level (low, medium or high) is specified for each folder in the tree menu. You may select individual keys or entire folders and click a button to start fixing the problems.

To make the process safer, RegDoctor will back up the entire Windows Registry before it fixes anything. Once it is backed up, you can restore it at any time by clicking the Restore option, on the left part of the interface. A small window will show up, where you need to select the created backup and click an OK button.
